Green Goals

We love to inspire young minds to try new foods, understand where their food comes from and learn how we can help the environment be a little greener. We look at many ways we can be greener, from using food waste in compost to encouraging children to have a go at planting and seeing food grow for themselves!

Sustainability

People across the world are becoming increasingly concerned about climate change: 8-in-10 people see climate change as a major threat to their country, with food production being responsible for one-quarter of the world greenhouse gas emissions.

Our food choices have a significant impact on our carbon footprint, in our workplace and at home. By looking our behaviours, we can choose to make a positive impact on reducing the carbon footprint the food we make has.

Local produce

Take a look at our map below featuring our top local suppliers.

Using local farmers and growers not only supports local businesses, it also means that we are getting wonderful fresh and seasonal ingredients with low food miles. It is really important to work with the seasons and use food when it is abundant and at it's very best. This ensures nutritional value is of the produce is high and also the taste is fantastic!

Oil recycling

We use Olleco to recycle our used cooking oil. They guarantee that it is recycled to the very highest environmental standards. Creating biodiesel from something that would otherwise go to waste, makes it one of the greenest possible alternatives to fossil fuels. Used cooking oils and fats are ideal to refine into biodiesel.
